Daily Deals: PS5 SSD, Samsung OLED Gaming Monitor, Bowflex Dumbbells, LG C3 OLED TV

May 30, 2024

Today's daily deals for Monday, August 21 include a 2TB PS5 SSD, Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED and Mini-LED gaming monitors, an LG C3 OLED TV, Flexispot dual motor standing desks, Bowflex dumbbells, LEGO DeLorean, HP gaming laptops, Alienware gaming PC, and more.

The Silicon Power XS70 SSD with a preinstalled robust aluminum heatsink costs well under $100. The aluminum heatsink is still slim enough to fit in the PS5 without obstruction. It boasts transfer speeds of up to 7300MB/s read and 6800MB/s write, comfortably faster than the 5500MB/s minimum recommended requirement. It actually performs a little better than the Crucial P5 Plus, the original WD Black SN850, and the Samsung 980 Pro, although that won't make a difference in your PS5.

Today Amazon has dropped the price of the 49" Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor to $1702.70, a hefty $500 price drop from its original $2200 MSRP. The Odyssey OLED G9 replaces the Neo G9 as Samsung's latest and greatest flagship gaming monitor. The most noticeable upgrade from the Neo G9 is the quantum dot OLED panel. The previous gen Neo G9 utilized a Mini-LED panel, which was already a step above the IPS panels you'd find in most other high-end gaming monitors. OLEDs, however, blow away any other type of monitor in terms of HDR, black levels and color rendition. Samsung's QD OLED panel is even better. Quantum dot technology produces higher peak brightness levels compared to traditional OLED TVs without losing the color accuracy and range and wide viewing angles that OLEDs are known for.

Today Amazon has dropped the price of the 49" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor by $900. It's currently $1299.99. This is the lowest price we've ever seen and beats out the previous all-time price low we saw during Black Friday. Outside of the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 that's also on sale right now (but for a whopping $500 more), this is the best Samsung ultra-wide gaming monitor you can get.

Amazon some great deals on Flexispot dual motor electric standing desks in time for back to school. A few different models are available ranging from 55"x28" to 71"x32". All of these Flexispot desks feature a dual-motor lifting system that is able to support more weight (up to 176 pounds) and puts less pressure on each motor, thus extending lifespan. Unlike most standing desks that have two legs, these desks have four legs for more structural stability. The advanced keypad gives you three memory presets and a timer to remind you when to swap sit/stand positions. An anti-collision feature, a must-have in all desks, will stop the desk when it detects obstruction of the motor.

If you've decided to bulk up this year, then here's a deal that will help you reach your goal. Amazon has the Bowflex SelectTech 552 adjustable dumbbells for $379.00. That's a 31% price drop from MSRP. Each Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbell is adjustable from 5 pounds all the way to 52.5 pounds with just a turn of a dial. It's definitely more efficient than constantly swapping discs. In terms of space saving prowess, the Bowflex dumbbells are unmatched. All the plates are neatly contained and doesn't take up much space. You're basically housing two larger profile dumbbells instead of an entire rack of weights.

Amazon has dropped the price on the new 2023 LG Evo C3 65" 4K OLED TV to $1996.99, about $600 off the original $2600 MSRP. The LG Evo C3 4K OLED TV is the successor to the extremely popular and highly rated LG Evo C2. In terms of image quality, the two are largely identical with the new Evo C3 being a bit brighter. The new Evo C3, however, does have support for DTS audio, which is good for people who have Blu-ray discs. The C2 and most older models did not have this support, and you would have to use a separate AV receiver to handle the decoding. This TV is inarguably one of the best HDR and gaming TVs you can get.

You must upgrade to the "i7 + RTX 4080 combo" and "2560x1440 display" to get the config listed above. This laptop has been upgraded with a very powerful GeForce RTX 4080 GPU. The RTX 4080 mobile GPU performs about 20%-35% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti mobile. Compared to desktop variants, the mobile RTX 4080 approaches a performance level similar to the desktop RTX 3070 Ti. It's definitely more than enough power to run most games on the display's native 1440p resolution, even at maximum settings. In fact, even ray tracing is finally an option for laptop gamers with this GPU or the 4090.

You must upgrade to the "i7 + RTX 4090 combo" and "2560x1440 display" to get the config listed above. The RTX 4090 makes hardcore gaming on a laptop possible. The RTX 4090 is the most powerful mobile GPU ever, and by a huge margin. The HP OMEN 17 supplies up to 175W to the GPU. That means this is probably the fully enabled RTX 4090 GPU with a 150W TGP, not the gimped 80W version. It's roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3090 GPU. Your gaming laptop will be a better gaming rig than most gaming desktops out there.

The RTX 4080 is the second most powerful card on the market. On the AMD front, only the Radeon RX 7900 XTX can keep up (and that's if you ignore DLSS and ray tracing). It's much more powerful than previous generation cards, performing about 50% faster than an RTX 3080 Ti. It also supports DLSS 3.0 (DLSS 2.0 + frame generation), something the RTX 30 series lacks, and that increases the performance gap for games that support it. It's actually only 20%-30% slower than the RTX 4090 while costing hundreds of dollars less. If you're not convinced, check out our RTX 4080 review.

Today Amazon is offering an excellent deal on a very capable mid-range AMD GPU. You can pick up the XFX Speedster AMD Radeon RX 6800 16GB GPU for only $429.99. Even better yet, you get a free voucher for the upcoming Starfield game. This card is a perfect card for 1080p and 1440p gaming and it's considerably less expensive than NVIDIA alternatives. The Radeon RX 6800 is only about 5%-10% slower than an NVIDIA RTX 4070. At its current deal price, it's a whopping $170 cheaper than an RTX 4070.

It's no secret that we love our Secretlab gaming chairs. We've consistently rated them as the best high-end gaming chair on the market, as well as the best gaming chair for "big and tall" gamers. Of all the gaming chairs we covered in our "Budget to Best" roundup video earlier this year, Akeem considered the Secretlab Titan Evo to be the most comfortable.

From now until August 23, Secretlab is offering a Free Secretlab SKINS when you purchase a select Titan Evo gaming chair (which starts at $629). Redeeming the free SKINS is simple. Place an order for your Titan EVO and you'll receive an email with the redemption code within 5 days after it ships out. Secretlab SKINS are upholstered covers that completely change the look of your chair. They are a great way to redesign your space without having to shell big bucks on yet another gaming chair. They normally retail for $169 apiece so getting a free one is a pretty generous offering considering Secretlab chairs are rarely discounted.

Amazon is currently offering the LEGO Icons Back to The Future Time Machine (DeLorean) 10300 building kit for $160, a $40 price drop from its $200 MSRP. This is basically a 3-in-1 kit. You get to choose which type of DeLorean time machine you want to build. Each movie from the Back to the Future Trilogy had a different car design, and the instructions and part materials allow you to build any of those three (but you can only build one at a time). The DeLorean from the first movie features the lightning rod and plutonium chamber. The DeLorean from the second movie has fold-down hover conversion tires as well as a Mr Fusion energy reactor. The DeLorean from the third movie has stylish whitewall tires and a hood mounted circuit board.

Amazon is offering an ADDTAM 3-Outlet 4-Port Power Strip for only $10.89 after a 36% off coupon code "GUEN5FQ8". The power strip has three AC outlets and four USB ports. There are two USB Type-C ports and two USB Type-A ports. The USB Type-C ports can charge at 5V/3A (15W) and the USB Type-A ports can charge at 5V/2.4A (12W) with a max of 22.5W at any given moment. The extension cord is about 5 feet long, which should be enough cordage to get this closer to your desktop. The plug head is flat so it won't stick out and it is angled by 45 degrees so it won't block your other outlet. What's rare about this little strip compared to others is that it is easily wall or desk mountable. Instead of using annoying keyholes on the back of the strip, this one has screw mounts on either side of it. A final note, this strip is ETL and FCC certified and conforms to the UL standard.
